Winter 2026 - The content of the class was fun to learn about. The professor, however, is one of the rudest professors I have met at UCLA. She is impatient and unkind, and also very easily irritable. She is unclear and inconsistent with her expectations and if you come to her for help, she gets very annoyed with you. She claims that we can find all the answers to navigating the course on BruinLearn but I had the hardest time finding things on her webpage and I’m usually fine when searching course sites for answers. It’s ironic but also baffling that professors have reached a level of entitlement where a student asking for guidance is an inconvenience for the TEACHER. She’s always ready to argue even when I would respectfully approach her and wait for email responses that took weeks for her to get back to me - sometimes never at all. She also had very unnecessary rules and told us we would take five quizzes and she would keep our top three scores, then she said we “misunderstood her wrong” and that we are actually only supposed to take three and those will count as our scores. She doesn’t give extensions on quizzes even with justifiable circumstances and sometimes even refuses to help when coming to her for guidance. She also had many unnecessary assignments that took up time for no reason and had so many requests that if we didn’t follow she would’ve given us zeroes for the entire assignment. For example, we needed to include our links to the google docs so that she could see that it was us working and not using AI, but apparently if we type too fast we’re using AI. ??? If we didn’t comment the google doc link in the submission portal, we get zeroes. Her grading system is also very inconsistent. I could honestly keep going about her. I don’t even write reviews for professors but Vega is such a disappointment to the learning system that I had to write to let other students know. Don’t take her.
