Dr. Jentsch is by far one of the best professors out there. Psych 115 is a difficult class but if you have to take it then definitely take it with professor Jentsch. He is VERY clear and presents difficult concepts in ways anybody can understand them. This class has A LOT of memorization but if your a science major your used to this and if your a psych major just be sure to go to class and listen to his podcasts and you will do fine. His midterm is very straight forward although the final is a bit harder. Overall, he is an excellent professor!!!

He is a really good teacher, really nice and knows his stuff. Lectures are recorded so I never went to class, just listened to them online. His first exam is pretty easy but the 2nd midterm and final are just a little bit harder. Its really interesting stuff but it's easy to think its and easy class and you don't need to study cause the material is so basic, its a lot of memorization. Good class good professor.

Jentsch is an amazing lecturer. I can honestly say this is was one of the hardest classes I've taken at ucla (in terms of difficulty of material) but Jentsch made it tolerable, and even interesting to learn. The way the class is set up isn't that hard, since you have weekly quizzes and three tests. Most people do really well on the tests, so a lot of your grade is based on your section grade which determined on how well you answer 3 quiz questions every week. But studying for the quizzes every week keeps you on top of the material, so studying for the tests was never overwhelming. I highly recommend this class to psychology majors - it might be hard, but the neuroscience you learn is the basis for psychological concepts you study in other classes.

I just have to say he is a great professor. He is caring and intelligent at the same time. I enjoyed his lecture so much, and would take him again if he teaches other classes. I highly recommend him. You would not regret taking him.

This professor is amazing. Thoughtful caring intelligent fair and most importantly an effective teacher. If you go to class and pay attention you will learn more than you ever thought possible about subjects you never thought could be interesting. You'll probably get an A too.

I am SO glad I took this class with Jentsch. Honestly, he made the material so much more enjoyable. Like people already said, he is an EXCELLENT lecturer - one of the best that I've encountered here at UCLA. He speaks very quickly and it is often hard to write down every single point that he says. But, that's what podcasts are for! Nonetheless, he is very concise and to the point. Also, there are quizzes every week, but they're fairly easy as long as you look through the powerpoint beforehand. Oh yeah, there WILL be discussion questions on the midterms, so don't forget to look over the discussion powerpoints as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Jentsch.

Take Jentsch for 115. He's a hilarious guy, definitely knows his stuff. He's a genius who can talk -- awesome lecturer. If you found him boring, you were probably sleeping in class. Don't be sleepy in class. The Jentsch/Blair team is the best pair of professors I've taken. Everything you need to know is in your notes, but go to lecture to see and understand what is emphasized. Exams are easy to study for -- just go to lecture and LISTEN, then review your notes a couple nights before the exam.

He's a great lecturer. He goes straight through his powerpoint slides and explains the material pretty thoroughly. The book isn't really needed to master his exams, its only good as a reference for the stuff on his slides that might need a little bit more explaining. Quizzes are helpful. If you want to get a great grade in his class, memorize the heck out of his powerpoints, which shouldnt be too hard since the material is very interesting. His TAs are also helpful so hit them up if you have additional questions. His tests are multiple choice and one essay question. Make sure you have the ability to memorize or else you're screwed.

Everything you need to know for the test is on the power point slides. But you HAVE to go to class if you want an A. It's a lot of material and you probably need a good 2 days to study before the midterms. I'm a science major so I didn't think this class was hard at all, but I can see how people with limited biology background can find this class to be really difficult. He also gave us 4 extra credit points on each of the two midterms which made it a lot easier in terms of points. Don't expect a curve for this class because so many people do well. Great professor, great material.
