Dr. Bass is incredibly inspirational and accomplished. It was a privilege to get to take the class with him. He has an amazing presence and brought such an atmosphere of excellence to the class. I wish he was still teaching it!
This class is for musicians/singers who are extremely passionate and serious about music. I have been in Chamber Singers for about a year now and I adore every single piece of music that is given to us. We perform at concerts and churches for others to watch and enjoy. The repertoire is not simple and needs to be worked on outside of class in order to be perfected. Dr. Bass is lenient when it comes to sicknesses and absences, as long as he is informed in advance. Highly recommend this class!
I love Chamber Singers with Dr. Bass. It's been one of the highlights of my UCLA career. The class is really fun, although it can be tiring. The audition was hard, and it can be hard to get in. There are a ton of voice majors that don't get in on their first tries. I really enjoyed the music and I loved working with everyone. The class doesn't have much work out of class, but Chamber is a lot more work than Chorale. I would definitely recommend auditioning for Chamber I loved it.
