Winter 2025 - Most engaging professor in PHYSCI core so far and actually enjoyed and was able to follow pace of his lecture. Also really nice person would stay over a half hour to answer questions after lecture and we did not feel rushed. He does not used slides so you must copy what he draws on the board IN DETAIL. Some lecture were video recorded on bruin cast and some only audio. His exams however are another story, not particularly hard content but every question has "all are correct" and "none are correct" and combination of some of the options are correct which really trips you up because the remainder of the options differ on verry specific details. On top of that it was 25 questions (no free response) and large percentage of the overall course grade so my suggestion is know EVERY WORD he says during lecture and do well on the module 1 exam and final to offset this grade. Many smart students got below 70% on his exam.

Winter 2024 - Tidball was so clear and an amazing professor. He's so charismatic and explains everything without any fluff. Only PHYSCI class (His module only) that I didn't need to study for at all and aced the midterm. I think the discussions also really help to clarify anything, so definitely participate in those. Professor Tidball is an excellent teacher. He is able to explain things in a clear, coherent lecture, and makes sure everyone understands. He handwrites his notes on the whiteboard (thank god for no powerpoints!) which gives you plenty of time to copy them down. For 155 his tests are not multiple choice, but are very straightforward, certainly a welcome change from the 111 series. In addition to all of this, he is a very nice guy who is always willing to help if you have any trouble!
