I came into this class with a lot of interest in physics but during this class I find myself hating it more and more each confusing and complicated lecture I have to sit through. This professor has no idea how to teach an introductory course and will spend the majority of the class period deriving useless equations for problems that are meant for third and fourth year physics majors. While the tests are not that hard if you understand the homework, you have to work extremely hard to even complete the homework. The TA I had was little to no help when it came to homework and the class in general and often would try to teach us high-level math during discussions that really just confused us even more. There are no demos done by the professor and overall his lectures are confusing and dart from place to place with no sense of completion. Do not take "Jaime" unless you are forced to.

His lectures are confusing. He jumps from one derivation to another fully realizing that he does not intend to test his students on derivations nor are his students strong enough in calculus to follow. If you must take his class, expect to teach yourself the material. Also, if you happen to get a good TA, use it to your advantage. A lot of the time, the TA's are more helpful than the teachers.

Professor Rosenzweig means well, but his teaching style isn't up to it. Lectures were not very organized and I found it hard to follow at times. He also left twice during the quarter and we had a substitute professor who wasn't any better than he was. His homework isn't too bad, exams aren't that difficult (he allows a cheat sheet) but I didn't find lecture very helpful in learning physics. Thankfully the textbook (Giancoli) isn't too bad so I learned off it instead.
