Pros:
-relatively easy midterm (final was actually challenging and took me the full three hours)
-not too time consuming (two classes-->totally doable)
-lab portion was really chill (thanks to my TA Jason)
-HW isn't bad (a lot of problems tho)
-Material is comparable to psych 100a
-interesting because the problems are medically/research oriented.

Cons
-The notes were confusing (opinion)
-prof lost me at times

Suggestion
-You can take this class and another class/MCAT.
-Following his lectures with the book helps because his lectures can get a bit confusing.
-Make sure to go to lecture because he will have questions that wont be covered in the book (i.e. finding the power etc)

What I did:
-Studied for MCATs and went to lecture (missed a handful due to MCATs pummeling me)
-got a 92 on midterm (majority gets 100)
-did HW (chegg)
-took good notes (can use notes on the tests)

Grade: A

PS he no longer let's you use the book on exams. only the notes he give you.

He is the best and most concerned professor I have ever seen! Go to your lab section, do your homework and you'll get an A in the class! I took it over the summer. I got 84% (16 points off) from my midterm and I was worried that I will get a B. He told me that since my score was within the standard dev., I'll get an A most likely. I got an A in the class. I don't know how everyone else studied for the midterm (it felt like they have seen a midterm from a previous year), but about 30 people got 100% on the midterm exam and the average was 90!I highly recommend you to take this class with him and go to each lecture because his midterm had questions that were based on his lecture notes that he posts online. Good luck you guys! Easy A!

Professor Sayre is very nice and gentle. I actually took the final before the official date for some reasons. He gave us 3.5 hours (another 30 min extra) because the final is too long. I did terribly on the midterm (82) but ending up with an A. I didn't go to the lectures before the midterm, that's why... So my suggestion is attending the lectures, taking notes, doing the homework and turn it in on time. The most important thing is making yourself good notes, instead of searching stuff from the textbook during the exam, remember time is limited. That's it. It's not a hard class unless you get to work.

I took this course with Sayre over the summer. The midterm was easy, the average was a 90! But the final was a whole other story. I managed to answer all the questions, but they were tough. During the midterm, I barely studied and still finished with enough time to sit there in the lecture hall and finish my homework since I thought it was due along with the midterm. For the final, I actually studied (not much but still put in more effort than the midterm) and I sat there for the full three hours. I ended up with an A, so not bad.

His lectures were a bit interesting (but really how interesting can numbers get?) He does a good job with all of his examples to get students involved and to show how applicable this field is since it's a bunch of pre-health, pre-med students taking this course.

Great prof because he actually likes what he's teaching and wants everyone to do well. Just don't get too discouraged after taking his final. It was tough for everyone.
