Professor Hauck's Anthropology 154P class was an amazing class and was so engaging and interesting, this was probably my favorite linguistics class I have ever taken. We are graded on participation which is 20% of our grade (although he said he would not take attendance my quarter due to the implications of the presidential election results), two papers which are 4-5 pages and are very easy and depending on what you get on the first paper, it is worth either 20% or 25% of your grade which in my opinion is very generous. We are also graded on two take-home quizzes which are worth either 15% or 20% of your grade depending on what you get on the first quiz, and if you actually do the readings and take notes of all the concepts in the readings you will no doubt get an A on the take home quizzes. He also offers extra credit opportunities so if you write down multiple concepts from the readings and its definition on the page in canvas, you will get extra credit. TAKE HIM! He is very generous and wants all of his students to succeed. Could not recommend him enough!
