Quarter: Fall 2016
Grade: A
May 5, 2017

In terms of work, this class wasn't really bad at all. Reading from the textbook is not even a requirement to get an A, so long as you heavily review the topics in class before the tests. It's also helpful to get your 6 credits out of the way early in the quarter so you don't have to worry about them later. The median for the midterm was an 80, while the median for the final was an 88, since he gives a study guide for it and the second half has easier material (less brain structure stuff, which was what brought me down in the midterm). Also you have two extra credit opportunities for showing up (missed one) and another for lots of people filling eval's. Overall not a difficult class and it's mostly fun and engaging.

Overall, this was a great class. The professors teaching is very clear, and straightforward and he manages to keep the class engaged. He is also very understanding and reasonable when it comes to student's work load and exams. Studying is obviously a MUST if you want to pass with the best grade possible. Also, as others mentioned he uploads his lecture slides online which is a plus.
I'm currently selling a loose leaf version of the class text book for $75 . If interested, please text at

He gives you a syllabus with assigned readings, there's not much to it. You can pull off not reading if you listen well in lecture, but word to the wise some test questions are from the reading (not a lot, but the points count). The tests were 50 multiple point questions which was very fair, and much appreciated. The TA's were really helpful when making the study guide, topics not in the study guide weren't on the test which made the midterm and final even more fair game. He also offers extra credit and makes witty jokes that I really appreciate. I liked the energy that Dr.Wong and his TA's Chelsea and Julia had, their youthfulness made them a bit easier to relate to. Definitely strengthened my interest in psychology, 10/10 would take it again. (:

Overall, I liked Wong. He is logical and concise. He also seems to care a lot about his students as well.
This class however is quite a bit of work for a GE.

Quarter: Fall 2015

The class was fairly straightforward, although the amount of work was pretty brutal. It's a basic memorization class, and did not really require students to apply concepts to novel situations. If I remember correctly, Prof. Wong gives 3 points of extra credit, and 10% of the final grade is free, so there is no reason not to get an A in the class. The grade breakdown:

Midterm - 45%
Final - 45%
SONA Participation - 10% (you just have to sign up and attend, and you get 10% of the grade!)

All in all, he's a good professor, not great. I think the class is worth taking. Study the lecture slides over and over, because he only tests material from those slides. I am selling the leaf loose version of the textbook 11th edition for the cheapest price you'll find ($55 and negotiable)! Email me at ************* :)

Psych 10 is definitely a workload. This class is straight scale so what you earn is what you earn. The midterm and final are worth 45% each, the research requirement is 10%, and he gave us 3 chances at earning extra credit which is a really great bonus. The book is ranged between 80-100+ bucks but truthfully speaking, you do not really need it. The key to passing this class is focusing on the power points in class and actually attending class. I made the mistake of focusing too much on the textbook for the midterm so that's why I ended up with such a low grade. Wong is an amazing professor, he is very enthusiastic and you will know when sitting down in class for almost 2 hours if psych is the right major for you. He is really funny and honestly just makes the class so much fun, I would recommend this class if you are good at keeping up with a fast pace class and are good at memorizing things easily.

I highly recommend this class with Prof. Wong. He's very nice and generous, especially giving out three extra credit points to your grade throughout the quarter. The first two are given random times during the quarter at the end of class so you have to be there to receive it. You get the third one if more than 80% of the class fills out the evaluations. Don't really have to go to lectures but they're amusing and you never know when he's going to give the bonus points. The book is not needed for the course. His tests aren't that hard; the TAs made a great study guide for us before the midterm and final that covered most of what we needed to know.
