Professor Patiño demonstrates a strong commitment to his students and creates a supportive learning environment. His lectures are accompanied by clear, engaging slides that help make the material more accessible. Although I am not personally very interested in poetry or the various styles from Spain’s Golden Age, I appreciated that he made himself available through office hours and email to support students. He encourages class participation and fosters a respectful atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing ideas without fear of being criticized for mistakes. Overall, he is a valued member of the Spanish and Portuguese department.
