LS 15 is truly enjoyable because of his learning style. However, do not get fooled like I did-enjoyable does not mean easy. His tests require a great amount of detail and his multiple choice are not easy.

I had Phelan for LS 15, and it was SUCH an enjoyable class! I'm not a science person so I was dreading it, but it doesn't focus on any of the nitty gritty stuff other science classes tend to highlight. Instead, his class is entirely relevant to how we live and I feel like I have a newfound appreciation for science! He is an incredible and entertaining lecturer who frequently makes the class laugh. His lectures are on BruinCast, so coming to class is completely unncessary. The exams are ridiculously straightforward, and the weekly quizzes are the same as the problem sets. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this class!

I took LS 15 with Professor Phelan. Overall, my experience with him as a professor is entirely complimentary.

Phelan is an amazing lecturer. He is relatable, hilarious, and entertaining. He makes the information easily comprehendable and you enjoy attending lectures.

However, sometimes I felt Phelan simplified the information too much and the tests hard. I studied ridiculously a lot for both the midterm and the final and still only got Bs on both exams.

I ended up with an A- in the course, thanks to doing well on his weekly quizzes, which he basically hands you a good grade if you do the question sets and attend office hours.

Furthermore, I had Alon as a TA and he was absolutely amazing. Just like Phelan, he really did love the subject he taught and he really wanted his students to succeed.

Highly encourage taking this course, its actually a course that you can apply to daily life.
