This is one of those course that you waited for at UCLA TFT. Like Career Development with Mark Measures, Comic Improv with Tom Orth, and this course with Jean-Louis Rodrigue are when things actually become useful to you as a performing artist, so CONGRATULATIONS if you made it this far! This class is very hard to get into, so definitely use your first pass to enroll early. PTE numbers are issued for this course on the first day. The reason why this class is so important is because the Professor cares about your well-being as a human being, which feeds into your abilities as an artist. He is an expert teacher of the Alexander Technique and runs Alexander Techworks, an organization outside of UCLA that travels internationally to teach the curriculum you can get during this class. And this class lasts TEN WEEKS: that means ten opportunities to dive deeper into your understanding of what constitutes artistic mastery. Wherever you are at in your career or life, he will meet you there. He has worked with many actors including Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Sir Ian McKellen, Hillary Swank, Keanu Reeves, Cobie Smulders, Christian Bale, etc. Look him up. I can honestly say that I became a better artist because of this course, and saw things in my fellow students that I didn't know was possible. If you don't get to take this course, keep trying until you do. You'll thank yourself later because it's one of the few takeaways of being a UCLA TFT student.
