This is easily the worst class I have taken at UCLA. The professor is so disorganized, and so are the TAs. I never knew what I was supposed to be doing, and the quizzes and homeworks were very unclear. He does not use slides, just codes on his computer and expects us to know what is happening. There is no structure to this class and the syllabus was not followed. I do NOT recommend taking this class with this professor.

The material itself was not difficult. What made the class somewhat difficult was the professor's inability to be organized and adhere to the syllabus. We were supposed to have 7-8 homework assignments but only got 4, this upset some of my classmates bc the homework assignments helped us learn the material. Though, he did give us 3 more hw assignments and gave us full credit to make up for that. The homework may require a lot of time if you are new to coding. I found his test to be really easy. Attendance in discussions is not mandatory, but we did have weekly quizzes in discussions.

Despite how unorganized the class was, I believe that Professor Maldague will improve for future quarters and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to take PIC10A. He is a decent lecturer and is lenient with deadlines (for my class at least). Overall felt like I learned C++, though with a decent amount of effort.

Grading Breakdown:
- 70% homework
-10% quizzes
-5% midterm
-15% final

Pretty easy class, but the professor took a really long time to grade assignments. I'm sure he will get better about this in subsequent terms. He's pretty decent overall.

The instructor was really disorganized and uploaded homework at least one week later than the date he promised, resulting in us completing far less homework than we should have. However, he explains concepts pretty well in class, and the homework/quizzes difficulties corresponded to the things in class. I would say that this instructor will really be not good if you didn't do well in the first few homework (because you'd have fewer chances to boost your grade through later homework which doesn't even exist).
