The 7 series is just tragic but unavoidable if you're a STEM major. Its all the same throughout the classes, so just take the "nicer" route and take Maloy. He's super helpful and truly cares. Now, the class is a different story. You are assigned to groups or "pods" that you have to complete everything with in this class, ranging from having to sit with them in class, to taking the group phase of midterms together, to completing the worksheets in discussion. This class has 2 midterms and a final, and they each have two phases, a group phase and individual phase. The group phase you have a day to complete with your group, and then a couple days later you have the individual portion. The individual is almost identical to the group phase, just like twice as many questions. Each question is worth a bunch of points on the individual phase though, so if you get one wrong it brings your score down by a lot. The final is tough but its like the group phase + everything from the midterms so its just a bunch to study for. Discussion assignments are graded on correctness not completeness. There is SOME extra credit but it doesn't really help. There are also a bunch of annoying reflection assignments that take like an hour each. Each week, there will be a PAL, that is meant to reflect what the midterms will be like, but they're so hard for no reason so be ready to give up some points in this section. To study, definitely form a study group, study the group phases, and the PALs once they're graded. Coming from someone who didn't take AP bio or chem, I was scared going into this class, but the material isn't too bad, it just takes time to get, and time to understand their super complicated wording.
