maaah. He has an amazing personality, always there for students, though his lectures will never help you to pass them. I dropped because his vague language on the testes, i bet out TA didnt know what he wanted from us. He just loves smart words, its what he is good at.

Selling the book and the reader for 50$ total, it will save you 50%. contact me *************

I thought Political Geography was a great course and I'm not a geography major or minor. He teaches well and kept me awake in a class of ~150 people. He doesn't use powerpoint or slideshows, but just talks with his notes--which I think is the best option for what he's teaching.

He loves metaphors and idioms and makes a huge deal of how important they are. Which I guess makes the class laugh at times.

Well....I know that he is an intelligent professor...
BUT!!!!!
Come on, is he really that easy as the other previous posts said?
Just be aware that this is a HONOR CLASS and although he gave you questions before exams, it is not that easy.

In my opinion, he is probably the most interesting professor in the department, especially if you are a human geographer like me and you really enjoy politics. He gives you the midterm questions before the day of the exam so you have time to study and prepare. Most of the readings were good, although I wasn't a particular fan of the textbook. Overall, I highly recommend Geography 140 with Agnew. And he is pretty famous in the world of academia and geography.

this class was by far one of my favorite classes i've ever taken at ucla. lectures were interesting and his occasional jokes always made the class laugh. the professor practically gave out the exam questions and all you had to do was prepare the answers before the test. he himself graded our tests and was very fair. definately a class worth taking.

Awesome class! Loved it.
I was intimidated by his monotone when I first attended his lecture. But later on you will crack up by his wit and humor. He's a liberal and the readings are well-chosen. His grading is fair and many of us aced the exams. Midterm and final were in-class but he handed out study questions, which would be exactly the same in the exams. Students are strongly recommened to work in study groups.

Loved the accent, not such a big fan of the class. Lectures were well-correlated with the readings, and Agnew gave out essay prompts and good study guides well ahead of exam/due dates. The grading seemed fair- it didn't take much work to ace the midterm. You can be selective about what assignments you actually read, since most of the material is discussed in lecture. Agnew seemed very willing to talk to students outside of class and knew the material like the back of his (British) hand.
