Almog is probably the only philosophy professor i've had at UCLA whose lectures did not put me to sleep. He goes on a lot of tangents, and a lot of times the vastness of his knowledge of Metaphysics seems intimidating. His courses are not for the casual freshman dabbling in philosophy. I'd say before taking the Metaphysics courses, have a grip on some basic background philosophy, do yourself a favor and don't take this course until you're ready for it. I can see how Phil 7 could be scary with him, but really it's because his classes presuppose a pretty high degree of background knowledge. If you have that, however, i'd say he is one of the best phil professors ucla has to offer.
