Quarter: Fall 2018
Grade: B
April 30, 2019

THIS WAS THE WORST CLASS THAT I HAVE EVER TAKEN. Caram made everyone so stressed out the entire quarter. He is a smart guy, who is a researcher NOT A PROFESSOR. He has no idea how to teach and would send us emails that his lectures were quote "100% wrong" and he would scramble to take notes on everything he said then he would randomly cross out his work infront of all of us realizing he often did stuff wrong.

His office hours were held from 10-11pm at night and many of us would always go because he gave us exams every Friday including the last lecture. Many of us were first quarter freshman and barely had any knowledge on chemistry and he REVIEWED NOTHING nor gave a background which screwed me over for other chem classes in the series. His worksheets were completely impossible and even the TA's didn't understand them completely.

If you are already a chem god then you'll be fine but otherwise this was literally the worst class I have ever taken.

Quarter: Fall 2018
Grade: A
April 30, 2019

Class it self was not too difficult, but what made the class stressful is that professor Caram is somewhat new to teaching. He is bad at explaining things, especially to those who do not have a base in chemistry from high school. I often left lecture very confused, only to find that the concept was quite simple after our TA explained it to us. Professor Caram, despite not being the best teacher, still went out of his way to help students, such as holding late night office hours at b-plate. Overall the class wasn't too bad, but I'd recommend taking another professor for 14A if possible.

Quarter: Fall 2018
Grade: A

I enjoyed chem 14a because Caram was pretty straightforward with what he wanted us to learn, and he had a lot of office hours (including ones at Bplate at night!) to help us with the material. His quizzes are fairly easy if you pay attention in class, and the material is not too hard to master. Would recommend taking him! He does clicker during class too, so you kind of have to show up for lecture.
