I took this class as a freshman (in the classroom full of upperclassman and graduate students) for my comparative literature minor. The grading consists of attendance, one midterm paper, and one final paper. It's not a hard class and professor Komar makes the materials accessable

I love Professor Komar. Yes, there is a lot of reading, but as long as you read enough of it to get a good grasp of the concepts and plot she is really good about filling in the blanks. Also, she made a point to make sure that all of the readings are connected. She is always welcoming if you go into her office hours and will go out of her way to help you. I thought she was very good at organizing her lectures and making sure that everyone's comments and opinions were incorporated into her teaching.
