Professor
Katie Marsden
Most Helpful Review
Fall 2024 - Professor Marsden is a great lecturer and is very knowledgeable about the material. Her lectures are fast-paced, but very organized and she posts notes from the classes which were easy to read to review. The exams were not necessarily easy, but there weren't any total curveball questions and she posted practice exams to prepare that were similar in format and difficulty. This class isn't too hard if you're comfortable with derivatives and integrals, the questions are all computational and it mainly consists of learning a few strategies for solving different types of differential equations and applying them on the tests and homework. There are a couple smaller topics related to analysis of differential equations that can't be solved explicitly, but it wasn't a large focus of the class. There was little to no focus on proofs, especially in the homework and exam problems. Overall this class was a little challenging at times, but definitely manageable and I'd highly recommend taking it with Professor Marsden if you get the chance.
