Science education 1SL was really really fun and interesting. You'll get to work with children, have fun and also learn about cool tricks to maintain classroom order! Ms. Peters is a really experience and engaging teacher, and you will learn a lot from her. However, her job is at the UCLA lab school, which is a very well funded and privileged school (the school fees are like...crazy), so sometimes what she recommends does not seem to be possible for teaching in a normal public schools. Nonetheless, a great experience!
This is a nice and easy class to take if you want learn more about science education. The seminar each week is pretty engaging, since you learn a bit about classroom management and science education methods, but it's also really fun since you do science activities and "experiments" that are usually intended for elementary schoolers. This class also involves volunteering at a local UCLA-affiliated elementary school (~20 hours for the entire quarter). Interacting with the kids is always fun and exciting (I had some of the best experiences of my life there), and I even came back to volunteer after the quarter was over!
