Dr. Hill is a great professor! He understands we have a lot to do so he will often end class early and goes at a very good pace. He is very open to answering questions and will go out of his way to help you understand a concept both in class and in OHs. His questions are a lot more straight forward than Dr. Lazazzera's, but don't take them lightly since he might ask you the most random things. Get to know him by going to OH, he will help you out at the end of the course and with any concept you do not understand. I highly recommend him for any course!
Professor Hill was a great! His lectures are interesting to listen to. I found his exam questions much easier then Lazazzera's questions. He requires more reading then Lazazzera but i thought he was a very fair teacher. MIMG 101 is not an easy class but like any class if you put the effort into it then you will be fine. The great thing about the exams is that they give you plenty of time to finish.
I personally liked Dr. Lazazzera better for the MIMG101 course. Dr. Hill was a little bit less organized and didn't use the slides as much as I like. However, he is fair and it is a great class. Do the homeworks, they are great prep for the exams.
professor hill taught this with lazazzera...
Hill is definitely a lot better at communicating than lazazzera by far...
but his test questions are harder than lazazzera's, i felt...
for this class, just memorize every freaking experiment taught in lecture...
and the test questions will be asking you to design an experiment like you did in lecture... basically, its the experiment with a different organism or different quality...
know the experiments in your sleep.
and be as thorough as you can on the exam. if you miss a certain detail, you'll get your points madly marked off like another other LS class...
the professors are hard but not impossible... just follow my advice and you should be fine.
Professor Hill was the better one of the professors, but the class is still not worth-taking. If you are not an MIMG major and you don't absolutely need this class then do NOT take it because it will hurt your GPA. No matter how good you do in the class you could still end up with a C in the class. This class is just not worth it. It seems interesting and not that bad but it will hurt your GPA!
HILL was probably the best professor of the three I had for MIMG 101. I thought his test questions were tough and overall the class is not easy. Still, he was very concerned with students and made himself available often. Good communication between him and his students.
