Kim Tuan Do was super fun and he was really kind. Only bad thing about this class is that it was at 8 AM every day, but I enjoyed waking up every day to go see his face (lectures were not recorded). He was clear explainer and made amazing jokes. Would 100% take again.

Prof. KTD’s teaching was very nice! He posts his class notes that he lectures on, and his sketches for the proofs/explanations for many of the theorems presented in this class were very clear and intuitive. He also does a lot of examples for each topic, so you get a lot of exposure just by going to lectures. His practice midterms were very similar to the actual ones. Not to mention, he also gives little mini history lessons on the mathematicians and is pretty funny too.

Some downsides were that he does lecture slightly fast, and even with that, we still did not cover some topics near the end of the 32B syllabus (the upside is a lot of that time went into very in depth examples done in class, and the topics not covered were not tested on). His final was also significantly harder than the practice final.

Either way, still highly recommend this class with Prof. Do!

Class is very reasonable, given the fact that 32B is supposed to be one of the hardest undergraduate math classes at UCLA. Professor is clear with his expectations and is a strong lecturer. Exams are relatively easy and are generally similar to the practice tests he provides beforehand. If you are good at math, you would probably be fine just learning from the notes/textbook/homework and not showing up to lecture.

This class was definitely challenging (but doable), but this professor genuinely made me enjoy this class a lot! Although there is a helpful textbook I would definitely attend lectures (they are not recorded but he posts his notes). He is one of the only professors where I actually understand what's going on during lecture! He is super helpful and he answers your questions very well. He is also a very kind person, if you talk to him then he will make an effort to learn your name which is super rare here. The hw is definitely challenging and honestly quite time consuming, but the tests are easier than the hw! The hw is also graded on accuracy which I strongly disliked but it didn't turn out to be that bad. The midterms were not too challenging but you do have to pace yourself since you only get 50 mins. The final was very similar to the practice final he gave, but still a bit harder. Take Professor Do!!!

I love Professor Do, and I would take him again for my future math classes. He is clear in what he teaches and sometimes makes funny jokes in class. Homework was a little difficult at times, and the midterms/finals were also a little challenging but he offers quite a bit of partial credit for attempting the problem which saved me in this class lol. He provided a page on the back of the exam with the formulas we needed to know on the exam, so we never had to memorize the formulas, just how to apply them to the problems. He also gave hints for some problems which I found very helpful on the exams. If you had taken his class, you can tell he cares a lot about student success.

Do is a solid teacher and I definitely wouldn't avoid him, but that being said he doesn't make the class super easy. His homeworks are on the more complicated side and he goes pretty fast in lectures so you definitely have to read the textbook before hand. I'm not sure he is very good at explaining concepts, but he does do a good job teaching by example so if you like that learning style then going to class is very helpful. The exams were very fair and well written, they incorporated pretty complicated examples from the homework but everything was doable and basically what I expected, and there's also a midterm drop scheme which is nice. I didn't think the class was super hard grading wise and I would say if you were fine with the other lower div maths you'll be fine, but I could see how Do would be tough to learn from if you were less into math. I liked him overall, he is a nice guy and super smart and I feel like I learned a ton from this class.
