I took this class during an online quarter. Dr. Lohmueller was a wonderful professor, and was willing to help with anything that you needed. He made the class very straightforward, and we were given a ton of extra credit, and encouraged to work in groups for exams and homework. The content of the class was statistics heavy, but Dr. Lohmueller was very willing to help if you needed some background knowledge about anything. Overall, one of the best professor I have taken at UCLA.
The best thing about this class is the collaboration that the professor wants you to have with the other students in the class. Homework, midterm, AND final are all open-note and open-collaboration. This really helps even if you don't understand most of the material. Definitely be in a groupme and collaborate via zoom or meeting together. I aced the final this way.
Also TONS of extra credit in this class. This class doubled as a graduate class during my quarter -- graduate students came to the same lectures and discussions but had an extra aspect to the class with journals. There is a last question on every homework that is for graduates but extra credit for undergraduates. So I basically got 110/100 for each homework.
Homework assignments are due each week before the first lecture of the week except for the week of the midterm and final. You have a week to do the midterm and a week for the final just as if they were the homework.
Professor Lohmueller is very nice and understanding, sometimes pushing back deadlines for us, and he is very helpful in office hours to students as well.
