Frasure is a great professor: clear, to the point, no BS filler-work, definitely cares about what she's teaching. You can't say that for the majority of UCLA's tenured political science faculty.

The class consists of 2 "pop" quizzes (which are actually announced the lecture before), 2 1-page "reading critiques", a short-response midterm, and a 10-page final. They're all very straightforward. There are no tricks or questions that require you to know some strange, obscure content.

I didn't expect to be interested in this class's content at all, but it proved to be very valuable background knowledge.

I highly recommend this class.

This class was engaging and I always felt like I was learning to learn and not just to memorize facts. This course walks through a very interesting perspective of the history of suburbanization and Professor Frasure presents information in a very clear and concise way. This class has quizzes, mini-papers based on the readings, a test midterm, and an essay final. If you study for the quizzes, they are pretty easy and based on the concepts Professor Frasure addressed heavily in lecture. For the mini-papers and the final paper you have a lot of freedom to write about topics that interest you from the course. I had Pierre as my TA and he was very chill. Overall I highly recommend this class.
