Quarter: Winter 2018
Grade: A
March 17, 2018

Dr. Henrary does have a very strong accent that is often to hard understand. However, it does get easier throughout the quarter and he prints out lecture slides for each student to use and write on during lecture. The printed slides help you follow along. Henrary's class is very simple and straightforward. If you have his lecture slides and study them you will do well. He will literally tell you what is on the midterm. Additionally, you get a full page front and back cheat sheet for the final so you can't really complain. Overall, Henrary really seems to care about his students. He asked me how I felt about the tests after I turned them in and would say hello and have a conversation with me when he saw me in lab. I find that pretty impressive considering I was just one student in his lecture that never went to office hours. Because of all of this I would definitely not be too worried about taking his class!

Quarter: Summer 2017
Grade: A
Aug. 13, 2017

In my opinion.......
Professor: He has a thick accent, so you want to be able to hear what he says. Sometimes, he gives information about the exams during his lectures, which are not podcasted (at least for summer session A 2017), and some of the lecture notes that he gives in class are blank. I think he really wants his students to succeed, because he was upset at the low midterm average (71%).
Midterm: Honestly, this exam isnt too bad material-wise, but you have to make sure you don't make any mistakes, and be sure to CHECK YOUR WORK. I made so many mistakes on the exam and they add up a lot.
Final: The final was way more difficult than the midterm, unfortunately, but we were able to bring a cheat sheet computer paper that we can write on both sides.
Labs: Labs were either individual or group work, and were usually expected to be finished in the 3 hour lab period. The professor "normalizes" the grades so that students with difficult TAs get more points and students with easier TAs get fewer points. I'm not sure how that system works.
CPR: I basically wrote an essay on some topic, graded 3 sample essays, and then graded 3 peer essays as well as my own.
Weaknesses: Disorganized material

Okay to be honest you cannot understand a word this man says. His accent is so thick and he talks SO fast that you will never get anything he says in lecture and as a result you really have to teach yourself everything. Also he's HORRIBLE at answering questions he never understands anyone's questions and if he does, he just brushes them off and says "it's this" and points to his slides. He isn't clear at all about anything. I got 100% in labs, a 100% on the midterm and bombed the final even though there was a cheat sheet because everything on that thing he NEVER TAUGHT US, but he claims he did? He's literally the worst teacher I've ever had, just one of those professors who doesn't care about you, and is a horrible at helping others. Sad because BL was actually a fun class, with the labs and such, but he just made every lecture very unpleasant and I know more than enough people who left each lecture as confused as me.

Henary has a really strong accent which is unfortunate. You have to go to class to pick up his powerpoint packets and you have to stay and take notes because there are blanks you have to fill in. He goes through the lectures so fast I didn't even have time to take a picture of a slide, let alone fill in all the blanks. The labs are pretty doable and are graded easily, but I thought the exams were pretty hard. The midterm was alright, but the final had stuff from 14B that we didn't cover at all and I had forgotten, so I got a C+ in the class.
