agree w the other review from june 15 for the most part! as someone who didn't feel very confident in my performance in 101a with xu, cha's 101b was very straightforward and digestible. i found both exams to be pretty fair (one double-sided cheatsheet per exam with a complete list of everything to study posted beforehand), and it was nice to have a week 5 and non-cumulative week 10 exam to space things out.
i had daniel chen for my TA and he was really helpful in working through all the homework with us step by step, but i imagine the workload would be significantly heavier with a TA who doesn't explicitly show you the R script for the textbook problems.
the group project was also very fair (running an experiment on an online platform, performing analysis on your data in R, writing a final analysis report on it) but we were advised mainly to work on it after the midterm. if you have a busier second half of the quarter already, the work can pile up so i recommend at least looking at it beforehand and familiarizing yourself with the process and the deliverables, but i think the grading wasn't too harsh.
tldr; would 100% recommend taking this class! well organized and easy to follow :)
Professor Cha was very fair in her evaluation of us. The midterm was harder than expected but definitely gave us a good expectation for the final. Consists of: exam 1, group project/presentation, homework, and exam 2, with exams being 35 and 25 percent of your grade, homeworks being 20 percent, and the group project being 20 percent. She is very fair and I enjoyed taking her class this quarter. Also, the 'final' was in week 10, which was very nice to get it done with before finals week.
