Prof. Falbo is extremely confusing as a professor. I found it difficult learning from her as her teaching felt scattered and all over the place. She is honestly so sweet and generous and is SUPER willing to help anyone, which is so appreciated. She is just not very organized as a professor and it kind of made me stressed because the learning wasn't very consistent or easy in any way. I recommend this class, but it is difficult when being confused constantly.
She's really sweet and understanding when it comes to you not knowing the language of Italian well but she will call you out if you are not paying attention LMAO. MindTap assignments are super manageable if you get ahead with it and the composition assignments are also easy as well! There's the occasional quiz but the good thing is that she has practice quizzes (not-graded) for you to study for the actual quizzes :)
Professor Falbo is an excellent instructor. She takes attendance within the first five minutes of class, as participation is a component of your grade. It's important to note that participation in this context primarily means attending class, rather than necessarily raising your hand to speak. The course assignments include a few essays, which come with clear instructions and are never longer than one page, double-spaced. The textbook and Professor Falbo's slides greatly facilitate the essay-writing process. To succeed in this class and earn an A, regular attendance and completion of simple, short online assignments are key. All our quizzes and exams were held online. Overall, I found Maria to be exceptionally kind and understanding. Take Italian 1 with Maria!!
