This is an excellent class to understand the basics of what goes on in the industry. The first two hours include lecture about a specific topic for that week whether it be FILM, TV, CONTENT CREATION, or COMMERCIALS. The last hour includes a guest speaker that Mark Measures of KMR Talent Agency is gracious enough to provide and has some expertise in that field. The guest lecture series works a lot like a standard Q&A. There are two essays for the course. One essay on what's going on with the business right now and the other on what's your career goals are in the future. Each essay is two pages, double-spaced and worth around 15% of your grade. Most of your grade comes from attendance and participation. There's also a final one-on-one meeting with Mark where you can talk to him about any interests you have in the industry and your career plan. Overall, this is an excellent class and Mark is an excellent professor. I got an A- because I didn't speak up all that much in class so my participation went down, so be sure to engage and converse publicly. I would take this class again with Mark because his knowledge of the industry is vast and likely better than that of other professors at UCLA, so I do recommend it fully.
