AVOID. This is already a tough class and the professor makes it impossible. Unless you are seriously considering a masters in math, do not take this professor. I usually overlook comments that say how tough a professor is and I end up doing just fine. It will not be the case with this professor. A class average of 20% on a final is ridiculous.

This review is for Math 61 class. But i think it's the same for every of classes he teaches. He is super nice but not know how to explain stuff. He doesn't copy exactly the concepts in the text onto the board, it is fine of course, but his wording is weird and confusing. One time, for the graph theory, I pre-read the book and understood the concepts, but after his lecture, I became so confused and had to re-read the book to confirm what I understood from the book. Examples in class are jokes compared to homework and his exams. His exams are ridiculously hard and I only got about 50% and 70% for the midterms. Some freaking geniuses still managed to get >90%. I almost dropped the class because I thought I would fail. Miraculously, I did extremely well on the final and got 90%, and unbelievably ended up with an A. Again, I thought I was failing the class. The only thing I did to save my life in this class was to study the concepts over and over again, did every past test I could find online, even from different campuses (his exams are not similar to any though, but doing such things really helped). At least 2 people that I know did not end up good, one dropped the class after the second midterm, one didn't get really good grade. I actually suggested these 2 classmates to do what I did and invited them to study together, but they didnt want to. Overall, this class gave me a really horrible experience: nice but bad professor, weirdo TA, dudes in class that said "if you want we can study together" and were always busy when I asked them to meet up, so I ended up study all by myself and saved my own life.
