I would not recommend taking this class with this professor. I feel like if the professor had been better, this class would have been much easier. However, I found myself a bit confused by his lectures and I just resorted to reading the textbook in order to make sense of the material.
His lectures add nothing to the textbook material nor are they very engaging. The weekly quizzes are OK, but you probably should study a bit for them. His midterms and finals are fine, but make sure that you are very solid on conceptual aspects as well as computational, as there are very tricky true/false questions.
The lecture is totally useless. He purely repeated the info on the book, even with the example on the book. And his volume is so low that i can't hear some of the words even sitting at the first few rows. Quiz is really unfair. Some of the sessions have really easy problems while others have problems that take TA more than ten minutes to complete on the board (excuse me?). The midterms are full of true and false questions that you will have no idea about how to approach them. AVOID HIM
I attended his first several lectures but only to find that I could not understand anything. Then I learned everything by my self. Yet though my grades seem to be within A range, I only got an A-. This course should be extremely useful for engineering and science students, and if you want to learn it well, never take his class.
Professor Gallauer gives lecture with very low voice and his handwriting is small and not easy to read... Avoid his class if you rely heavily on the lectures to understand class materials. Also, his tests are kind of difficult...
