everyone who gave prof. malkan a bad review must be either save taken stupid or lazy. he is one of the best teachers i have taken so far. he does have his bad days, when he uses confusin analogies, but his tests are easy if you just go to his office hours.he's so passionate about his subject that he keeps you interested. dont be offput if he seems like he doesnt want to help; he really cares about his students. i would recommend him for anyone who really wants to know astro.

If you're taking astro 4 with Malkan, make sure you know the basics of astronomy that you learned from Astro 3. Astro 4 with Malkan wasn't bad at all and there is a minimal amount of math that you have to do for the class. There are homework assignments, but they are easy to do, especially if you go to all lectures and discussions because the TA will go over the homework problems. Professor Malkan is a great lecturer and he really shows his knowledge and love for the subject.
