Medaya is amazing. The reading for her class is very diverse. Most of the poems and novels are contemporary or related to contemporary issues. Class is 100% discussion based; while she leads the discussion, she never lectures. Participation is a part of your grade, so be ready to share your opinions and ideas. Although the discussion is intimidating at first, Medaya is great at making everyone feel comfortable and gives validation to everyone's ideas. She is very approachable and helpful; make sure to go to her office hours especially when papers are coming up. I loved this class, you'd be lucky to take 4W with Medaya.
