Professor Mehrnia wakes you up when you sleep in class and call you out when you don't pay attention. Overall, one of the better professors who care for EVERY SINGLE student. Only problem is his homework takes forever to complete (I'm talking avg of 10 hours or more per homwork) and his exams are tough.

If you're going to take him, be prepared to drink coffee before class and pay attention. Also, you're going to be spending a lot of time studying if you want a good grade.

Definitely 9/10 recommend, but not for THE WEAK.

Professor Mehrnia is teaches a very difficult and time consuming EE 110 course, but I have learned a lot from it!

He is a great lecturer, and you can learn a lot from his class as long as you put in the time to learn all of the material.

Homework assignments are very long and difficult, but they give you the practice you need to understand circuit analysis well.

Mehrnia is probably one of the most effective professors at this school. You will learn far more about circuit analysis from him than from any other professor. He actually cares about teaching too; yeah he definitely comes off as rude at first and he can teach pretty quickly at times, but it's not bad keeping up if you have a good EE 10 background, and over the quarter I found myself liking him more and more as well. I even realized he had a bit of a sense of humor.

Don't get me wrong though, his class is time consuming and the tests are FREAKING difficult. There is one homework per week (except midterm week) and they each have 10 problems. There was the occasional super hard problem, but most of them are pretty do-able if you attend lecture. But unfortunately the problems can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and a half each! Then there's the tests... There's one midterm and a final and they will both kick your butt. His good teaching and the homework will prepare you pretty well but he throws some tricky things at you on the tests (like weird transformer configurations) that, along with the length of the tests, make them difficult to finish. All that said though, he is an extremely fair grader. Aside from the homeworks, which were graded by the TA's, the whole grading scheme reminded me of Brent Corbin's grading (e.g. no final score posted). And in the end I was very satisfied with the grade I got and felt like it was what I deserved. I would highly recommend waiting until Mehrnia teaches 110 again to take it if you ever want to fully comprehend circuit analysis (hopefully he does teach it again).
