I took Math 31B with Professor Andrews, and I must say he's one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I really enjoyed his class.

His tests were reasonable, with the first midterm being very easy. Each test increased in difficulty, but that is to be expected of course. Go to his office hours! He does homework questions and clears doubts. His midterms are similar to the homework in difficulty. To get an A, make sure you are in the top 30% of the class. He gives an A+ to the first and second ranked student.

Paying attention in class is really easy, because he is very engaging and funny.

10/10 would recommend again.

Michael's lectures are extremely easy to follow with clear explanations and examples for each topic that he goes over. The workload is not too difficult to keep up with as well, probably around 20 problems a week - give or take - due mostly each Friday. Office hours are also very helpful and I would really recommend going if you have any questions. Be careful when studying for the midterms and final though because there were always one or two questions that would stump me, but would end up having an elegant, simple solution.

Having taken Calculus in high school, I found this class very easy, but Andrews really solidified some details that I had forgotten. Lectures are helpful and often hilarious (Andrews is super funny), homeworks are long but useful for the time-tight midterms, and the final was fair and took me only 90 min (we get 3 hours). Overall, great experience - I'm taking 31B with Andrews again next quarter!

Overall Andrews is a good professor. He explains the material pretty well and makes sure to make the lectures engaging especially for those who consider math to be "not their subject". The workload isn't too bad, about 20 problems a week. The tests weren't easy, but they were fair. There was certainly a time issue on the first few midterms, so you need to know the material and work fast. I would take Andrews again.

Took Math 31A in the winter with him and Math 31B in the spring with him. He's a great professor who explains the concepts well and understands student's concerns. Both classes had two midterms, a final, and 9 homework assignments due each week. Both classes were pretty straightforward calc but I found the series and sequences section of 31B challenging. He does spend a lot of time going over it though, which I found cemented the material and helped me understand. Overall a real cool guy!

Andrews is AMAZING. His tests are fair (he usually tells you what will be on them), and if you study hard you will score well (but if you don't study you're screwed). I am not the best at math, so I didn't have an amazing grade, but he is an awesome professor who I wish I had taken for 31B. His office hours are fantastic because he is incredibly approachable, and he will often crack jokes. He is truly superb.

If you attend his office hours and do the homework and practice exams, you'll most likely pass the class and exceed your expectations. Professor Andrews is very accessible, and is willing to explain and figure out a way to help you understand concepts from lecture during office hours.

Andrews is my boy. Great professor. He is super funny and quirky, per se and his music taste is pretty cool. His office hours are super informative, and his tests are pretty. He understands that most people in the class are not huge fans of math, and his explanations are thorough and clear enough to get to the point. My performance in his class was limited by myself. (I got sick the night before the final and winged it so I did terrible). He's a great teacher and a real bro. Stay noided.
