Omg, I actually loved this class. Like I'm so sad to leave :(. Didn't have a single clue about maps or QGIS going into it, but I was actually enthralled doing every assignment (except for that second to last one...I wanted to die). They were sooo easy (albeit a little time consuming--but EASY). The module includes a detailed, STEP-BY-STEP walkthrough of how to complete each assignment. Take it if you can!! I hope you enjoy it! :) Like I'm a psych major and I had the time of my life LMFAO

This class was overall a pretty easy A. There were some very tedious assignments (week 9 nearly killed me and it was Thanksgiving break so not much help was given) but mostly all of the assignments were ran through step by step in the technical demonstrations. You don't need to watch the lecture videos as you don't even get credit for them anyways. You can just command F and find all of the weekly quiz answers in the textbook. Also don't buy the textbook because you can easily download it off a 3rd party site. All assignments were due Sunday at 11:55pm (don't ask why its not 11:59) and even though the assignments aren't too hard don't start them on Sunday afternoon because that never worked out for me. The 1st week I submitted my assignment a couple minutes late but my TA was pretty understanding and accepted it. Just start early enough to not stress yourself out and this class will be a breeze.

The class is completely asynchronous with the exception of the lab which could be either in person or online. There is a textbook for the class which you can find on libGen. You must have it as there are weekly (open-book) reading quizzes. The grade weighting is as follows:
Syllabus Quiz 5%
Weekly Assignments 60%
Thematic Discussion Forum 15%
Weekly Reading Quizzes 20%
The syllabus quiz is really easy, should just be an easy 100% (you can take it many times). The weekly assignments usually consist of making a map in QGIS. It's easy to get a 90% or higher on them, although they can be annoying. Sometimes my TA would grade a bit harshly for no good reason, but as long as you watch the technical demos, you are going to be fine. The forum discussions are really easy, just do them and you'll get a 100% every week. The reading quizzes are free too, open-book and can take them as many times as you would like for a 20/20. Overall, the class is an easy A, would recommend it to anyone who wants an easy science GE. Just know that the assignments can be a bit annoying at times.
