Professor Douzjian is fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the class even though reading and writing are generally not my favorite things to do. There were a few books to read throughout the quarter, about 4 I think. They were pretty well-selected and interesting, coming from someone who doesn't read for fun or anything. There were only 2 or 3 papers in this class which is pretty light compared to some other Writing II classes at UCLA. She is very clear about her expectations for students' writing and makes herself very available for help. When I wanted to meet with her to discuss techniques for revising my final paper, she was too busy to meet in person as she was preparing to leave the country for winter break, but she was kind enough to arrange a Skype meeting that was equally effective. Overall a manageable and interesting class.
