Fall 2024 - violet is a great professor who cares about her students! lectures were always interactive which I very much appreciated. I also really enjoyed all the assignments. the focus on presentations with assignment 1 and the project was great. my one nitpick is that using peer reviews for grading seems a bit unreliable, but i don't really think its that big of a deal. could not recommend the class more.

Fall 2023 - Great overview of current NLP papers. Some NLP experience is necessary, but grading is very generous and mostly based on participation/completion. Not sure what the other reviews are saying since Prof Peng is really knowledgable, helpful, and completely fluent in English
