The professor is an extremely likable person, and the class material is more interesting than other classes. It does feel a little repetitive since it's only about propaganda, but the documentaries were pretty interesting. There was one midterm, a final, and a group term paper on a propaganda campaign of your choice, which was neat. The presentation to the class wasn't graded
This was one of the most boring classes ive taken at ucla, don't know why people are raving about it. 3 hour lecture, the entire time everyone is on their phones b/c the material is just so obvious. slides are disorganized and lectures are repetitive. if you want your tuition to go to good use, take a different class
Professor Koulloukian is an engaging, funny, and passionate lecturer. Unfortunately, I did end up dropping his class because of scheduling conflicts after the first few weeks. I bought the course reader (which is required for the class readings) and am selling it a little cheaper. Text ********** if you are interested.
Pretty easy class. Koulloukian genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well.
Need to go to class for the sign in sheet, as you get credit for it. Readings are so important for the midterm and final -- he gives you review sheets that are impossible to complete without the CR and textbook.
Material is not hard, mostly a memorization based class.
Selling my Course Reader + all necessary books (Propaganda & Persuasion) + midterm and final outlines/notes + for $65 or best offer!! Almost perfect condition for physical books. Text me **********
This class definitely had its pros and cons - the professor was great, and while there was a group component aspect, it was very manageable. Participation did matter and there was a sign-in sheet every lecture, which was 3 hours long. Lectures were interesting although the slides used were often taken almost word-for-word from the readings assigned. I am selling my course reader for a cheaper price (originally ~ $90), please text me if youre interested - **********!
MY ONLY COMPLAINT: the course reader is almost $90. I'm selling it cheap to anyone who reaches out so please text: **********. Gotta make some money back on that purchase lol.
But yeah honestly a pretty chill class, and the group project is nowhere near as stressful as you think it will be. The lecture goes by pretty fast for being 3 hours because he splits it in half and gives a 10 min break. Plus the second half of class you watch a documentary and they are actually pretty interesting. I swear they aren't boring.
Professor Koulloukian is a wonderful professor. He's funny, engaging and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. He gives out study guides for the midterm and final and even curves them too. The study guides are everything you should know for the exams. I wish he taught more classes, but as far as I'm aware this is the only one usually taught in spring. Unfortunately you need to buy the course reader in order to do the study guides. It costs around 80 bucks but I'm selling it for 65! (Willing to negotiate) If anyone wants it for Spring 2023, email me at *************.
Nazo Koulloukian is such a funny and nice guy. The course is relatively straight forward. You only have one paper and its a group paper so it makes the work load a lot easier. A multiple choice midterm and final that are not too bad. He gives a study guide for both and only tests on the study guide material. Interesting class for sure. Im selling the course reader that is normally around $80 for cheaper! Email me @*************
