Prof Kumar was very accommodating, especially during covid but this class hardly felt like a class. No one really knew what was going on because of the lack of consistency we had with lectures. Sometimes we would go a week without a lecture. Not the most difficult class if you have a good foundation of accounting already!
One of the worst professors UCLA has to offer. She did not teach for one minute. She released our class an entire hour early every day after holding us in class solely for the purpose of having us work with each other on homework questions (summer session was 2+ hours). She constantly said she really wanted us to get the concepts she was teaching, but all she talked about was her job working with "influencers". When a student called her out on an exam question that she didn't provide enough information to solve, she was unable to give a clear explanation. Really bad professor in my opinion.
I do not recommend this Professor as she only cares about her main job / her own business or so. She only does office hours at 7 am which is impossible for commuters. Her lectures, quizzes, and homework do not relate to her exam either. I eventually dropped the class since GPA is essential for me, whereas this class should be more comfortable with other Prof., says Micheal.
i liked that the professor puts in effort in relating some of the accounting concepts to real life scenarios but she really does not prioritize how to spend her lecture times effectively. she frequently goes on a tangent and then tests you on materials in a fashion that was not covered well in class. midterm and final practice review/practice questions are literally worthless, does nothing to help to prepare for actual exams. inaccurate midterm grades with no confirmation of having been corrected and no posting of your final exam grades which does not tell you how you actually did on the final nor how the class did overall. most emails are ignored as she prioritizes her business over teaching the course it seems. i would not recommend if GPA is important to you...
