Grade: A+

Highly recommend this class! Professor Reggente is an exceptional educator. His lectures are not just informative but also thoroughly enjoyable. The useful slides clarify complex concepts. He also provides extra credit opportunities that can boost the grade a lot. Overall, Professor Reggente is really patient and helpful, and his class and grading policy are well-structured. As long as you make a reasonable effort, you can do well in this class.

Huge fan of this class. There's no unnecessary college busy learning, and all the material is quite relevant and applicable in terms of real world neuroimaging. Slides are available in an organized fashion.

Professor Reggente is really good at using analogies to convey concepts that are otherwise quite conceptually intensive. He's also just much more our wavelength compared to a lot of the older professors, so it makes interactions/asking questions much more natural than awkwardly talking to a looming authoritarian figure.

Quarter: Fall 2024
Grade: A

I would say that this class is one of the better ones out of the 186 series— it’s not too demanding, the material is fun, and the professor is super understanding. You learn about fMRI and the physics behind it and get to have some hands-on practice analyzing sample fMRI data.

Half of the lectures were actual content, while the other half were lab sessions where you just go in and work on lab assignments. After each content lecture, you have to complete a take-home quiz. Luckily, professor posts his slides online with detailed comments under each slide! I did not have to take notes the entire quarter— he practically gave them to us.

The lab exercises are pretty easy to do (confusing at first but you get the hang of it) and the final exam, open-note, was pretty easy. Make sure to do well on the quizzes and labs because it makes up about 78% of your grade.

This was his first time teaching a regular quarter and I hope he does it again :)
