I think Professor Hyams is not as bad as other comments here. Although I admit that her lectures can sometimes be boring, her lecture notes are very clear. She is extremely knowledgeable. She is also very passionate about her subject. If you go to her office hours, she will be very patient to tell you everything you confused about. You can't go wrong with one of the legends in the language acquisition theory. (you'll learn a lot more if you do all the readings she posts online)
