Love this class, one of the first classes I genuinely was excited to go to. Professor and the TA, Icaro, are amazing and really immersed the entire class in culture of Brazil. Workload is so chill as well and kind of fun to complete.
Without a doubt the best class and professor I've had the chance of being apart of. Professor Lino is incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the subject material and cares for each student.
It's a rare talent to see in teaching but Patricia creates a stress free, welcoming environment that lets you get absorbed into the course material easily. Not only are you brought up to take pride in your work but you want to excel at it thanks to the environment the professor creates.
The work itself is fairly easy consisting of weekly movies to watch and a response paper for each (1-2pg) an artbook collage of which after each lecture you are expected to add one entry into it (all creative arts welcomed writing, drawing, painting, etc) it's very fun even if you think you don't initially have any artistic talent, and a final paper of 8-10 pages which breezes by with the knowledge you innately gain throughout the quarter.
Special shoutout to our class TA, Icaro who was always a key part in making the class so amazing.
One of the best professors I had at UCLA. There is something remarkably special about Professor Lino.
I love Patricia. Amazing class!
Very easy. 30 min lectures and you watch movies.
