Amazing lecturer. One of the few classes I looked forward to. Uses interactive system that I was very iffy on at first, but it really helped.

Great class. Changed my major to EBE because of it.

Professor Halpin's class was one of my favorites so far. Her lectures were very interesting and useful, and though the topic wasn't of much interest to me before, it appealed to my liking.

Getting a good grade in her class is as simple as understanding whatever she puts on her slides, which includes going to class every day to fill in everything she's blanked out on her slides, and going over her podcasts before the test. If you put effort into really understand the concepts, her tests aren't too bad. The labs are quite are quite a bit of work, but they're manageable.

Take this course only if you're willing to put in that much effort. All in all the class isn't bad and the material is pretty interesting, so go for it.

I enjoyed the lectures very much even though I didn't think I was interested in the subject before. She also puts interesting links on the class website. The tests are fair and not tricky. You do have to apply concepts as well as memorize. Professor Halpin is genuine and cares about her students.

I don't know what's up with the crazypants comments below. I liked the class. Her lectures were nicely organized and had great clarity. She's good at explaining material.

Class was great! Halpin was very helpful and approachable in office hours, even scheduled a time outside of office hours for us to meet.

Halpin's a great professor. I wasn't really interested in the topic beforehand, but she made it really entertaining.

I'll admit I was really worried about the class after reading all the unhinged rants below. The class and prof were really good. yes you have to go to lecture and the work. The lectures were good though, better than most. and you could miss a big chunk of lectures and not get docked on points. All the profs have lab quizzes. The class was work, but that's nothing new.Put in the time and you'll be OK. I liked it and learned a lot.

Great professor! Really explains things well. Planning to take more courses with her.
