I absolutely LOVED this class! Professor Verducci is the nicest person and she is incredibly helpful. I had to take this class asynchronously because of Covid, but she was always available to meet over Zoom, which was super helpful. The class itself has a decent amount of work (lectures, movies to watch, scripts to read, discussion posts, quizzes, readings, all while starting your screenplay), BUT it's all highly entertaining and interesting stuff. I would recommend ordering the books, especially if you are looking to go into screenwriting, they are very helpful. I really enjoyed getting to plan out a whole screenplay, and my TA was so supportive and helpful throughout the process. Even if you are not looking to go into screenwriting, this class could be highly beneficial for those looking to go into movie-making, acting, or even just those who need a creative outlet. It seriously is just so much fun and I would recommend it to anyone!

This class was very clear and fun, even over Zoom. Although Verducci herself didn't lecture, you watch lecture videos of another professor who has done screenplays and has experience in the industry. The films you watch and get quizzed on are interesting, and the quizzes ask for relevant info. To be honest, if you only had time to skim before a quiz you'd still be good - just turn on the transcript of the lecture and search for keywords. The quizzes never asked about the films, just the readings, so you honestly just need to know the gist about them just for the discussion posts.
