Interesting and funny course. Professor Wen is super nice. TAs are very responsible. Reading his assignments is very important since his exams are based on that.
Selling (all books- like new)course reader, dwarf, naive super, shadow, hunger, and anecdotes of destiny TOGETHER for $55. These books are for Scand 50 and all of them are required for this course. Message ********** if you're interested.
His class is great. I marked notes every class and easy A at the end.
** I am selling the course reader which contains some of my notes. It will be $30. Feel free to text me if you want it~ Good luck with the class guys~ **********
This class is a great time. It's basically an english class, but for Scandinavia. No textbook, homework assignments, discussion, or bullshit. First 2 weeks is the most workload as there's a paper to write, but you can participate in a mock trail and get out of the paper (limited space for the trial) and after this, the quarter is a breeze. Two midterms, second one is basically a "final" but it isn't cumulative. The class is pretty much him introducing authors and background information, then you read some stuff for hw and discuss in class. You don't really need to pay attention and can cram everything the night before the tests. You don't need to fully read every book and story assigned and watch every movie assigned, you can easily get by with reading summaries online and kinda listening to class discussions sometimes because the tests are very surface level, just to check if you have read. Participation is kinda mandatory as he calls random names during class and if you either aren't there or don't answer it, your grade drops 10%. If you answer it or never get called on, you get the full 10% of that part of your grade which is chill because the class is like 300 students and 20-30 got called on all quarter. Fully recommend taking this class with Wen, he genuinely cares more if you learn rather than caring about grades. Awesome guy. If you are a finesser, take this class. If you are a sweaty try hard who will actually read everything, have fun with a bunch of bullshit Scandinavian stories lol. Either way, easy A for sure and a good time. If you want the course reader for a cheaper price than the store, hmu at **********
I found this class to be easy and interesting. Highly recommend for freshman to take fall quarter(because spots are held for y'all during orientation sessions)! I am selling the course reader for a discount please text me at **********
A pretty easy class overall. Didn't go to most of the lectures near the end of quarter. His midterms are not relevant to his lectures so you basically don't even have to go to class. Just read the some of the materials and you will be fine! I'm also selling the books required for the class. Text me for more information **********
