For those of you interested in taking a class that really does teach you something practical and something that you can use in real life, this is the class for you. I have taken almost every Management Class and Economics Class, and by far this is one of the best classes I have taken period.
Habibi is more than willing to help you succeed inside and outside the classroom. The material covers basic finance to development in real estate. He thoroughly covers all topics, providing real life examples and case studies. You do not need any background understanding as he begins with basics for all topics. However you will leave the class with a much better understanding of finance and a decent grasp of real estate. The concepts are not that difficult nor is the work load. However you will learn a lot, A LOT.
I would highly recommend this class for anyone interested in real estate or finance.

This is probably the most useful and practical class I have taken so far at UCLA. Like the posters before me, this class taught a lot of finance and real estate information which I think will be essential in any related career, or even just to know in general for life. Professor Habibi was also the most approachable professor I have had in my time at UCLA and he really cares if his students learn and if they have any concerns. He even comes in on weekends for office hours before major exams. Great class, highly recommended

This class was great, definitely worth the time and effort! Lectures are well structured and very interesting, Professor Habibi is extremely experienced in this field and is really concerned about student learning. This was my first finance/management course at UCLA, so even with no econ or accounting background this class was still fun and challenging (but in a good way). Even if you aren't considering a career in real estate, this class will provide you with practical tools for life.

The book was kind of pricey but I bought it and it helped reinforce ideas from lecture, if you can afford to buy it I would say to since it has very useful information that you can refer to even after you complete the course.

Professor Habibi is an amazing teacher. Very knowledgeable in the real estate and finance field. He gives you first hand accounts and case studies to consider. The class is not your typical regurgitation of the book or power point. Its supplemented by valuable insider knowledge and tricks of the trade. Best class I have taken in 4 years. Strongly recommend if you are entering finance or real estate field. We need more courses in real estate finance and professors like him.

One of the best classes that I took in UCLA. We learned real stuff. The professor was always available and helpful to learn Real Estate. Although this is an elective course for MBA students, I rate it as one of my top 5 courses at Anderson!!!

Professor Habibi brings all of the benefits of having a real world real estate developer and investor in the classroom. Lectures are entertaining and informative and he is great at mixing his real world experiences into the lectures. Additionally, he is very open to questions from students and is committed to helping them learn the real estate industry.

Professor Habibi is an excellent instructor. He forms a good rapport with his students through his humor and his willingness to explain concepts and answer questions. He combines real world practical experience with qualitative and quantitative concepts to instruct his real estate class. This combination is ideal in order to learn someone who sees everyday the issues we discuss in the classroom. He also uses cases -- both Harvard and his own projects -- as well as a feasibility study to give students a more hands on approach to learning about real estate through examples. I would highly recommend Professor Habibi; his class is extremely practical and a great learning experience.

I just needed upper division units... But boy am I glad I took this. Anyway, Professor Habibi not only teaches you useful information, and as many have you have already stated "real world knowledge"--he does it in a clear, fun, and organized manner. Yeah it's a hard class but I go with the motto"if it's hard..it's probably worth it." He is easily assessable and shows passion for what he does.
