The one this that I'll remember about his class what he said on the first day:
"There are no grades in life. You don't wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, pour yourself a bowl of cereal, and give yourself an 'A'. Grades are no indication of who you are or what you're capable of as a human being. You are NO better than the person who ends up sweeping this room after hours. What separates you from that person is the privilege of education. Use it wisely."
Amazing guy, amazing class, amazing TA's.
Definitely TAKE HIM, and ATTEND HIS LECTURES!
super chill class and one of the realest, sweetest professors I've met at UCLA. this class is based on ten reflection journals (one due each week after class) -- you basically write about anything unless a prompt is specifically assigned by your TA. Most of the times you recall a moment of awareness in your personal life and reflect on it or write about the concept discussed that week during lecture.
Peter Sellars is a wonderful guy. He wants everyone to do well, and his purpose isn't to give students a hard time. He really tries his best to make his class entertaining yet educating at the same time. Must take this class!
It's true; Professor Sellars is known to hand out A's. Sitting through his lectures though, you'll learn that this class has more to offer than just an A. His class opened my eyes to issues I didn't know were happening around us. It made me do things I don't think I would've ever done. I highly recommend this class--you won't regret it.
BEST. KEPT. SECRET. AT UCLA! He teaches wac 100a and 100b and I will regret not knowing about 100a for the rest of my life. the most inspirational guy you'll meet on our campus who cares about you and all the projects are about you! amazing class - changed my life - wish i took 100a too!
