Professor Rojas's 103 is overrated. He was good at explaining the class material for sure; however, he did not make any additional effort to accommodate the large-class size. There were roughly around 360 students in the class, but he had an hour and a half I think? office hours per week. There were many students coming to his and other TA's office hours, so it was very difficult to ask questions and learn.

Also, TA's graded exams pretty darn strictly and weirdly.. On the midterm, I multiplied -2 instead of 2, and I got -7 off for that.. I talked to the TA who graded it and she would not give me anymore partial credit than 1 (so I didn't take it)..

But I would say, still, the workload is pretty light and curve was generous... Only two people scored above 90 on the final, with highest score being 92, so I would say that the exams were not specifically easy.

Econ 103 and Econ 103L are the classes using Statistics knowledge at Economics Department. The good thing to learn Econ 103 with Professor Rojas is that he has a very descent knowledge of Stats and often make the points very clear to non-stats major students. Besides, he is very polite and helpful both during his class and his office hours. He likes to make sure every students are clear on the subjects. If you attend his lectures (highly recommended, very clear) and do the exercises, you should be find on the midterm and finals as they are pretty straightforward. Highly recommended :) Professor Rojas is the BEST Professor ever! I would love to take more classes with him.
