I took the winter and spring courses with Raul. In a nutshell he is a nice, intelligent guy but a terrible professor. He hasn't even submitted grades for the spring class and its 2.5 WEEKS after Finals. The guy has no real interest in his students and his main goal is to further his political agenda through the use of the students taking his class. He literally cons you into thinking you are gonna be a part of something important with his projects and by the end of the quarter, you feel like a total sucker. The worst is watching the idiot students who are oblivious to this and are his minions who further his bidding. I'm actually getting pissed off right now just thinking and writing about this class / professor. Don't take it!

I'm on my second class with this guy just cause I have to for scheduling reasons. SERIOUSLY, I'm going to say the same thing as everyone else. DON'T TAKE HIM! All he cares about is spreading and building a name for himself in the political world. He won't even look at your looooooooooooooong papers and just stamp an A on it, (which is prolly what most of us as students want), but just write the papers for yourselves and not him.

He drones on forever as well. I had a 3 hour class with him, no breaks, and my notes never made sense because he goes off on tangents for about 40 minutes....however he is extremely intelligent, knows his shit, and is a funny/cool guy on a personal level. Only prof I know to ever invite students to his home or offer them rides home even.
