This professor is the WORST professor that I've ever taken in UCLA. He can't teach.. he just read the notes.. worst of all.. he read in a monotonous voice such that most people who are in the lecture hall are asleep!!! His tests are challenging.. they do not quite resemble the past exams.. so.. for exams, read your notes too! if you're pretty good in math, 101 should not be a big problem since most of the questions in the exams are calculations.

Buddin is by far the easiest economics teacher at UCLA. His tests may be hard as hell, but the curve is ridiculously generous. Just take his tests, fail the midterms and final and the curve will bring you up to at least a B. If you don't get at least a B in this class, you do not belong in economics.

One of the worst professors at UCLA when it comes to teaching. Tests are hard but there is a curve--it comes down to who can teach her/himself better

I took this professor expecting it to be a breeze, but it didn't quite work out that way. The first midterm and the final turned out to be pretty difficult. He gave us lots of sample problems to do before the exams, but only one exam turned out to be similar to the practice problems. The other two exams I must say were difficult, esspecially the final. Well, I guess I was a bit mislead by the previous comments, either that or something just triggered him this quarter to make his exams tuffer...

If you can teach yourself from the old practice finals you can survive without lecture. DEFINITELY don't buy the text. If you can't learn it yourself go to lecture, go to discussion, and ask questions, and you'll be fine. Definitely an upper half econ professor at ucla.

VERY easy class, the easiest A+ I ever got. The exams are straight forward, straight out of the lecture, just know the examples he goes over and those are your exam questions. He is very boring to listen to however as he speaks monotonously and very softly. He is, however, a super nice person and very understanding. Oh yeah, there is also very little reading and almost no work whatsoever. Econ 101 was the easiest class I ever took.
