Yes, he's a big guy in biochem, blah, blah, blah. But, he simply cannot teach! If you are seriously into biochem don't take his class because you won't learn anything.

His tests are okay. They are straight from the notes and lectures. Pay attention in lecture and write down every single thing he talks about int he class because it will show up on the test.

One bad thing about his class is that he recycles questions from his past midterms and there are always people who have the previous tests. The final is open book and open note so all they needed to do was flip thru their notes and copy the answers! He was told that people have the exams but yet he recycled the questions. It's really retarded! His class is VERY unfair. The clss is on curve and he sets the mean as a C+ and half the class have the questions already so they will screw up the curve.I know people that didn't know what what hydrogen bonds are and got A's!

I think professor Dickerson is a fine professor. His lectures are organized for the most part, his tests are fairly easy but also creative, not just plain memorization. Open book and notes on all exams doesn't really help you since you need all the time you've got, but it does provide insurance. Plus he's got really cool stories and history about the field.
